A Go Through of Acura RSX

Acura RSX is actually a sports car also known as Honda Integra DC5.Its a very popular sports car in Japan. The model sold in Japan is Type R and in North America its models sold are Type S. The Acura RSX is the last model of the Honda integra series. It was produced in 2002-2006 and was basically a luxury car. One of its shortcomings was the presence of double-wishbone suspension in the rear as people really appreciated the Honda series with double-wishbones for front as well so this change was not welcomed by majority. Its k-series engine had many smart features like VTEC which stands for electronically adjusting valve lifts. As the Acura RSX type r sold in Japan is a sports car so it has a reduced weight and stiffer shocks and springs and trim body line and limited slip differential.

The type S engine has 4 cylinders with total displacement of 1998 cc and maximum torque of 194 N-m at 7000 rpm and maximum power of 157 kW at 7800 rpm. Acura RSX has top speed of 219 km/h with 70 mph -0 mph braking distance of 181 ft. Speed of 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds. The engine was enhanced in later years with enlarged duct for good air flow and exhaust back pressure got reduced as well. There was a modification in gear ratio for increased acceleration. When Acura RSX was introduced in the market it was a very good seller in North America and Honda Company wanted to take it to other countries also but when Honda Civic Si was introduced it was a complete vehicle so they decided to end the production of Acura RSX and continue with Civic Si.

Many changes were made to the initial structure of Acura RSX in 2005 .The braking system was optimized and suspension tuning was altered for a better ride, damper and spring settings were too optimized, steering system was also modified for getting a quick reaction, the noise generated by the vehicle was decreased and insulation material was layered on key points to decrease road noise, The bumpers front and rear both were changed and even the headlight designs were changed. New color schemes were introduced in shades of metallic green, metallic orange, blue. The interior is given a new looking the meters color was changed to white so we can safely say that it was completely revamped. Firmness was increased of the overall body structure through reinforcement.

As the features of Acura RSX were enhanced so it won a lot of appreciation from car lovers and many awards were given on the basis of its outstanding performance and it was listed among the top 10 cars in 2003-2004.It was considered one of the best sports car and won manufacturers championship and it has remained as one the favorites of the racing community because its performance in extreme conditions was exceptional because it was designed keeping in mind the tough conditions it is even very popular among the street racers.
